This is known as a Ultra-Violet ink refill, some refer to it as invisible ink. This ink can only be seen under a black light, otherwise it is invisible. These ink cartridges are gas pressurized to 35 PSI. This means that it will not dry out like other ink cartridges and has a shelf life of over a hundred years. It does not rely on gravity so it writes upside down, in the vacuum of space, underwater, in the freezing cold of -30° F, and the boiling heat of 250° F. The precision fit Stainless Steel socket and tungsten-carbide ballpoint keeps it leak free and writing longer, cleaner, and more consistently. Nothing else comes close. These are made by FISHER SPACE PENS in the USA and also fit Parker ball point pens. Sure you could buy ordinary refills, but why would you want to?
